For a plaited 'princess' bun (Primary to Grade 3)
You will need:
A brush and a fine comb
Four brown hair bands
A pack of kirby grips (brown or blonde, depending on hair colour)
A pack of bun pins
A hair-coloured bun net
Hair gel (the wet cheap stuff is perfect)
Firm-hold hair spray
 
All of the above is usually available in the Camberley Boots.
If you'd like to buy the hair kit from us (excluding brush) Please let us know in advance!
 
We suggest you bring your child to High Cross and then do hair. Do not fear ! There will be someone to help ! But, PLEASE bring all of the gear.
 
If you'd like to do your child's hair, this is a rough guide ....
 
How to go about it :
1. Brush into 2 high bunchies
2. Comb against head until smooth, use gel to flatten
3. Plait both bunchies and tie ends
4. Place plaits horizontally and grip into place (trying to conceal grips and pins)
5. Stretch bun net over the whole lot so that it is taught( You may need to double it over)
6. Use the bun pins to secure the net to the bun and bun to the head.(trying to conceal pins)
7. Hair spray all (remind your child to cover their face and mouth!!)
 
 
For a hair in a bun with two small side plaits (Grade 6 to 8)
You will need:
 
A brush and a fine comb
Four brown hair bands

How to go about it :
1. Take two sections of hair from each side of the head, above the eyebrows
2. Comb the rest of the hair into a pony tail and use gell to flatten. The pony tail should be above the ears, but not onto of the head.
3. Divide the two sections into 3 sections and gel each section
4. Now plait them and secure with a hair tie
5. Pin these plaits horizontally on the head towards the bun.
6. Gather all the hair into one hairtie
7. Tie the hair into a bun
